What needs to be done in order to stop Illegal fishing in Mar Argentino? Sunday, July 17, 2023

 Members of the "Organization to Protect the 

squid” claimed yesterday that

 hundreds of vessels from many

 countries, especially

 from China, come to fish illegally 

  in Mar Argentino just outside 

the Argentine Exclusive Economic

 Zone, which foreign vessels can not 

enter without permission. 

This issue not only generates 

millions of  dollars in loses but also 

damages the ecosystem.

 This battle has been fought for

 many years but overfishing and 

inadequate policies still go on

 and nobody seems to care

 When will this end? 1

1 China has the world's largest distant water fishing fleet, with more than 2,000 vessels according to the not-for-profit group Stop Ilegal Fishing.
